Peace

For to us a child is born,

to us a son is given,

and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

-Isaiah 9:6

What is peace?

As defined by the world it is:

1. freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility

2. freedom from or the cessation of war or violence.

But the peace we are given from God is Jesus, and the peace he offers is:

• Peace that transcends the world view

• Peace that calms our fears and worries

• Peace that sees us through the difficulties and the storms

• Peace that comforts us when the chaos of the world clamors about us

For Jesus said:

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

-John 14:27

So this season, if you don't know Jesus as Lord and Savior, now is the time. If you do, now is the time to let the Prince of Peace reign and rule in your hearts and lives.
