GALEN OAKES, II
Lead Pastor
Galen, along with his wife, Malinda, began serving here at Amherst in 2012. They have two children who are both married with children of their own, making Pastor Galen and Malinda proud grandparents to six beautiful grandchildren.

Pastor Galen's heart to reach those who have not yet heard about Christ's love directs everything he does. As a man who has experienced God's healing hand in his own life, he is eager to share the power and saving grace of our Lord and Savior!

CALVIN HAMBLIN JR.
Administrative Pastor
Calvin, along with his wife, Ann, have been actively involved in ministry at Amherst for years. Utilizing his many gifts and talents, Calvin transitioned to his current role as Administrative Pastor in 2018.

As a proud father and a grandfather, Calvin cherishes his time with family and is known for being his grandchildren's biggest fan!
​
Pastor Calvin has a long history of serving the Lord in many different church and para church contexts. His passion to introduce others to Jesus drives him to give his best in everything he does!
JOY BROWN
Pastor of Worship & Family Life
Joy was invited to serve as our church Worship Pastor in 2010. She has since married and now she and her husband, Shane, have two beautiful children who fill their lives with blessings.
​
Joy encourages our congregation to live a lifestyle of worship to the Lord! While music is a wonderful tool to worship God, she recognizes that everything we do should be done out of heartfelt worship to our King! With this in mind, Joy seeks to include music, prayer, drama, scripture reading, and other forms of worship into our services all year long.
Now, with the inclusion of Family Life to her care, she seeks to provide opportunities for the whole family to know God and grow in their understanding of God's greatness!
